The text goes on to describe the worship of the Kula-Shakti through the five makaras and the recognition of the nine tantric Kula-Shaktis, before turning, in the words of Parvati herself, to the path of sadhana — including a moving eulogy of the guru as Brahma, Vishnu, and Rudra, as tirtha, tapas, fire, and sun, the very refuge and embodiment of the whole universe. Later chapters unfold the disciplines of purashcharana and the systematic recitation of the great mantra, marking this as a genuine and practical manual of Kaula attainment.
Considered a genuinely old work — quoted as an authoritative source in later texts such as the Matrikabheda Tantra — the Gupta Sadhana Tantra is a slim scripture that nonetheless concisely sums up the entire nature of Kaula tantra, making it a treasured possession for the serious student and collector alike.
